Glebe sign 25-year lease on their Chislehurst based ground

Wednesday 26th November 2014
GLEBE chairman Rocky McMillan says the club has signed a 25-year lease for their new ground in Chislehurst.

The Pain & Glory Sports Kent Invicta League club currently play their home games in Bromley, at Holmesdale’s ground at Oakley Road.

Mr McMillan said he was over-the-moon with the news and issued a statement over social networking tool Twitter.

He said: “Historic day as after months of negotiations and legal requirements, we have completed a 25-year lease on our new ground at Chislehurst.

“My thanks to club secretary, legal team and Richie Raymond for guiding us through the minefield of legal requirements on buildings.

“Today’s deal sees Glebe Football Club in its own premises.  From here we can be more service to the community. It’s a really great day.

“Working alongside the many great local organisations in the Chislehurst community, I would love Glebe to become a focal point of sport.

“We have already built great relations with Bromley District FC and the Rotary Club as well as being in advanced discussions with two schools.

“Anybody between 4-18 years of age, please contact me on twitter at @glebefootball. We have two fantastic squash courts, Foxbury under 5s, pre-school, table tennis and more (for hire).

“With the lease signed for 25 years, watch out for a lot more community based projects and initiatives to be announced.”

The ground at Foxbury Avenue, off Perry Street, Chislehurst, BR7 6HA, was formally used by Old Elthamians.
