We want our own youngsters to get every opportunity to play in the first team, says Glebe chairman Rocky McMillan

GLEBE chairman Rocky McMillan says he has retained the services of his manager Gary Alexander for the 2021-22 season.

The 41-year-old former Greenwich Borough and Ashford United manager took charge of the Chislehurst-based club in September 2019.

“Delighted Gary Alexander has committed to Glebe for the 2021-22 season,” said McMillan.

“Gary will be Head of Football, continuing in his role as first-team manager whilst overseeing the development of the reserves, under 18s and under 16 age groups.

“Daniel Stribbling has been appointed reserve team manager and Lee Gear will assist him.

“Daniel has a vast knowledge of Academy football and will work closely with Gary.

“These are hugely exciting times for the club with two excellent under 18 sides and three under 16 sides, so the pathway is there.  We want our own youngsters to get every opportunity to play in the first team.

"Alongside our new reserves, we will be applying for membership to the Isthmian League under 18s as well as having two under 18 sides in the Kent Youth League.”

Both the 2019-20 and 2020-21 Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division campaigns failed to finish owing to the coronavirus health pandemic.
