Hopefully it can be a good start for myself, says Glebe manager Gary Alexander

Friday 13th September 2019

GARY ALEXANDER takes charge of his first game of Glebe tomorrow, a trip to K Sports in The Buildbase FA Vase Second Qualifying Round.

Glebe are in ninth-place in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division table, while K Sports go into the game sitting in the bottom three with four points from six league outings.

“I’m looking forward to taking my first game at Glebe, an FA Vase tie being a great way to start,” said Alexander, the former manager of Greenwich Borough and Ashford United, who has taken over from Peter Sweeney.

“We all know where that can lead and it’s something we should all aim for but firstly we have to play K Sports, a real progressive side over the last few years so I’m sure it’s going to be a tough game away from home but one we have trained hard for all week and looking forward to.

“Hopefully it can be a good start for myself personally and one I’m sure all the lads who have been great this week.

“I’m lucky to walk into a squad that Peter Sweeney has built and has some real quality, so it’s over to them to prove and show they want to play for this football club, so I look forward to my time here and hopefully I can play my part in progressing this club starting tomorrow.”
