Gillingham Ladies return to Priestfield Stadium: We are ready for the season ahead

Thursday 17th August 2017

GILLINGHAM Ladies will open their FA Women’s Premier League Southern Division against West Ham United on Sunday at Priestfield Stadium.

The Ladies team last played there in December 2014 but supporters can see them in action once more following a new arrangement with the club.

Manager Jack Wheeler guided his side to the South East Division title last season and will be hoping a return to Priestfield will spur on his players.

“Having the chance to play at Priestfield Stadium is an exciting prospect for us,” Wheeler told www.gillinghamfootballclub.com.

“The chairman (Paul Scally) has been very supportive of the Ladies side and we hope plenty of fans will come along and get behind the girls.

“They have trained extremely hard, there is a good spirit in the dressing room and we are ready for the season ahead.”

Admission for the game, which kicks off at 14:00 is Free, however the club kindly askes for a £2 donation which will go to the club’s official charity partner, Take Heart Mercy Mission.
