Thursday 03rd October 2019

GILLINGHAM have announced the departure of their Ladies team manager Jack Wheeler, who has left the club by mutual consent today.

“The club thanks Jack for his hard work over the years and we wish him all the best for the future,” said a club statement.

Gillingham are presently in sixth-place in the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division, having collected two wins and a draw from their four league games.

Gillingham’s next outing is a trip to fifth-placed side Yeovil Town on Sunday 6 October 2019.

In a statement, Wheeler said: “I would like to thank Gillingham FC and wish them the best for the future.

“I would also like to further thank the staff from past and present at Gillingham Ladies FC that have helped me run the project over the years.

“My last and most important thank you goes to all my players, to whom I will forever be thankful.

“I am very pleased to announce that I have joined the coaching team at London City Lionesses.  I’m looking forward to starting on a new adventure, exciting times ahead.”

Dartford based London City Lionesses play in the Women’s Championship and sit in the top five with nine points (three wins from their opening five games).
