It will be lovely to get there (Wembley) but it’s a bit premature to be thinking about anything like that, says Forest Hill Park boss Ashley-Paul Robinson

FOREST HILL PARK player-manager Ashley-Paul Robinson says he is plotting a FA Vase upset on Saturday.

The Ladywell Arena based outfit travel down to Sussex to tackle East Preston in the first qualifying round.

Robinson, 27, impressed during the first half of their 1-1 draw away to Lewisham Borough on Monday.

But they fell behind to Jay Jones’ 23rd minute sucker-punch strike but Forest Hill Park deserved their leveller when it arrived with seven minutes from time, but Liam Wright was offside by the time he poked home the equalising goal.

Robinson’s men remain in the bottom five following the game with seven points from their six games while East Preston play one league higher, in the bottom five of the Southern Combination Premier with six points from their opening five league outings.

“I know on paper they’re one league above us, but I think the league above us is not really much different,” said the former Crystal Palace ace.

“We have no budget so we have to work with what we’ve got.  I’m happy with the team I’ve got at the moment. They’re doing what I want.   We just need to convert our chances.

“I’m always confident going into the game. Sussex teams play a little bit different to teams in London so I expect it to be a good game, good competition.

“It will be good to get away from playing away from the League.”

When asked about reaching the Wembley Final, Robinson replied: “It will be lovely to get there but it’s a bit premature to be thinking about anything like that, so we’ll just concentrate on playing the game on Saturday, we’ll take every game as it comes.”
