Folkestone Invicta chairman Paul Morgan: We have been put in Tier Three for a reason and agree not to play any games until mid to end of January at the earliest

Folkestone Invicta chairman Paul Morgan has issued the following statement from the Isthmian League Premier Division club:

“As you all know we are in Tier Three and we have been put in Tier Three for a reason.

“We have been waiting a decision on what the League are going to do.  The board of directors including Jim and (manager) Neil Cugley got together to discuss the situation and we all agree not to play any games until mid to end of January at the earliest.

“This decision was not taken lightly. All we want is you, the supporters, the players and the officials of this fantastic club to be safe and if we played any games at the moment we would be putting your lives, the players’ lives and officials’ lives at risk and we are not prepared to do that.

“I hope you all agree with our decision and we all look forward getting you back to the ground watching football soon but only when it is safe to do so.

“I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas.  Please stay safe and hopefully see you all very soon.”
