Folkestone Invicta make big money signing from Ashford
The board of Ryman Premier League club, Folkestone Invicta are pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Young as their new full-time commercial manager.
Mr Young joins the club from close neighbours, Ashford Town, where he has been general and commercial manager for the last five years, developing the club’s substantial commercial activities, virtually from scratch.
He takes up his position with Folkestone Invicta with immediate effect.
Peter and his partner, Sue, live in Ashford, and were welcomed as guests at the last two pre-season friendlies.
“Sue and I were made to feel so instantly welcome at Folkestone Invicta, that we felt at home very quickly,” said Mr Young.
He added: “I look forward to working with such a supportive club, and repaying handsomely the faith the club has shown in me.”
Peter will be responsible for developing all aspects of the club’s commercial activities at the Buzzlines Stadium in Cheriton Road, including advertising, sponsorship, catering and functions.
Meanwhile, back on the pitch, manager Nigel Cugley has signed former Gillingham, Hibernian and Hull City, left-back, Rowland Edge on a one-year-contract.
And former Cray Wanderers’ striker, Leigh Bremner, has arrived from Dulwich Hamlet.
This takes the number of summer signings to a total of eight, although one of those, Bulgarian Illiyan Pamukov, has since been released.
Cugley takes his side to Ryman League Division One South club, Dulwich Hamlet on Tuesday night, for another pre-season friendly - a game that www.kentishfootball.co.uk will be covering.
