Folkestone appeal over FA Charge

Monday 13th March 2006

At a Disciplinary Commission hearing last Thursday, Ryman Premier League club Folkestone Invicta were fined £1,000 and warned to their future conduct.

According to www.thefa.com  the Buzzlines Stadium club were charged for the “abusive and racist behaviour and language of some of their supporters” towards a Harrow Borough player during the match at Cheriton Road on 2nd April 2005.

The Commission found the charge to be proved and also ordered the club to place written notices inside their match day programme for the rest of this season and the first three months of next season, stressing the anti-racism message.

Invicta chairman Bob Dix, meanwhile, today issued the following statement: “The club has considered the FA’s ruling, and has enquired as to the possibility of an appeal.”
