Folkestone Invicta supporters' club aim to raise £3,000 to satisfy commitments made to playing staff

Thursday 26th March 2020

FOLKESTONE INVICTA supporters’ club have set-up an online fundraising campaign to raise £3,000 for the Isthmian Premier Division club.

A club statement said the Cheriton Road club “can meet their financial obligations for March but then it will be very tough indeed,” and the supporters club have stepped in to help.

No football club is generating any matchday income or opening their clubhouse facilities during this football suspension caused by the crippling evil Coronavirus.

“The Coronavirus has decimated all sporting events and caused postponement of many fixtures which smaller clubs rely on for the income to help their cashflow,” said organiser Bryan Pearce.

“In the absence of these fixtures and the closure of our clubhouse, finances must be found to satisfy commitments made to playing staff.

“The Folkestone Invicta Supporters Club assist in whatever way they can and do make monthly contributions.

“However, liabilities for the month of April must be met and without matchday income we must rely on the further generosity of our supporters.

“Any donation, no matter how small, would be gratefully received.”
