Folkestone Invicta boss Neil Cugley re-signs midfielder Scott Heard

FOLKESTONE INVICTA manager Neil Cugley has re-signed midfielder Scott Heard, following his release from National League side Dagenham & Redbridge.

Heard, 23, was a key member of Invicta’s 2015-16 championship winning side and scored in their first league game back in the Ryman Premier League – a 3-0 home win over Harrow Borough on the opening day of last season.

He made several appearances from the bench for John Still’s side and scored their equaliser in a 1-1 draw with Woking just a couple of months ago.

That was his first game back at his parent club after a successful loan spell from February to April in National League South, which helped East Thurrock United finish in a comfortable mid-table position.

The former Whitstable Town midfielder made nine appearances for The Daggers after signing from Folkestone Invicta in October 2016.

Cugley told www.folkestoneinvictafc.co.uk: “I’ve tried to keep in touch with the situation since we heard that Scott had been released and we’re delighted to have him back.

“It will be interesting to see how much he learned while he was away.”

Folkestone Invicta have confirmed that Heard has signed a one-year contract.
