Fleet manager left to rue defeat

Gravesend & Northfleet boss Liam Daish feels a two-minute spell cost his side as they were beaten 2-0 at Halifax Town on Tuesday night.

"I had players out there that weren't properly fit, but we've had that for the last two months, I'm getting used to it," Daish told BBC Radio Kent.

"It was always going to be tough to come here, but we had them on the back foot and their keeper was superb.

"If Luke Moore's chance had stayed under the bar instead of hitting it, it would have been completely different."

The result ends Fleet's chances of qualifying for next season's Football League Trophy and they end the season with a home game against Burton Albion at Stonebridge Road on Saturday.
