Fleet finally get clearance for Scottish winger Anderson

Gravesend & Northfleet have signed 19-year-old Scottish winger Chris Anderson.

The former Hearts and Dunfermline player impressed Fleet manager Liam Daish during pre- season trials.

Daish, whose side welcome second placed side Dagenham & Redbridge to Stonebridge Road on Saturday, told www.gnfc.co.uk  :"We have now got international clearance for Chris to join us.

"He did very well during pre season but it has taken us a little while to work out the arrangements for him to come to the club.

“Now that he has arrived it gives more competition for places at a time when Sasha Opinel and Stacy Long are about to return from injury.”

With the Fleet currently flying high in seventh place in the Nationwide Conference table after eleven games, Daish added: "We have done well so far this season but it is going to be a long and difficult campaign.

“We need as a many quality players on board as possible and Chris will boost what I consider to be a very strong squad".

Meanwhile, Jack Roberts, 18, has gone out on a month’s loan to Ryman League Division One South neighbours Chatham Town.
