MILLWALL LIONESSES will now be playing their home games at St Paul’s Stadium in Rotherhithe.

Millwall Community Trust were appointed to manage the stadium in Salter Road last October after the facility underwent a £1m investment programme.

“We aim to make this a home for women’s football in the local area, said a statement from the Millwall Lionesses board,” published on www.millwall.fawsl.com.

"With our RTC, development and first teams playing and training here, we have a solid home base. We'd like to thank the Council and Millwall Community Trust for the opportunity to have our own home."

Lionesses manager Lee Burch added: "We aim to make this a mini Den. It's a great ground, not too far from The Den, so it keeps us close to our roots. We want to have the same atmosphere we get there at St Paul's, which will sound fantastic throughout the Spring Series."

Fisher – who’s men’s first team are bottom of the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division table – said in a statement: “Excited to welcome Millwall Lionesses to our home St Paul’s.  Looking forward to working with you to make it a real home of community football.”
