There's absolutely no pressure on us this year, says Fisher boss Dean Harrison

Friday 09th November 2018

FISHER manager Dean Harrison says there is no pressure on his surprise package this season.

The Fish are in second-place in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division table with 28 points from 14 games and are a three points behind leaders Beckenham Town.

Deal Town make the trip up from the Kent coast sitting in seventh-place in the table with 23 points on the board.

“October was a tough month for us logistically.  Five of our seven fixtures were away, three of them on consecutive Wednesday nights,” reflected Harrison.

“By the time we got to play a good Cray Valley side two weeks ago, the lads were mentally and physically drained and did themselves no justice,” Harrison reflected on their 2-0 defeat to Kevin Watson’s promotion chasing side.

“It was good to get back on the horse and beat a hard-working Hollands & Blair side 1-0 at home last week.

“We showed real character as a squad and made sure the three points came our way.”

Looking ahead to Deal’s visit tomorrow, Harrison said:  “Deal are always tough opponents and I’m sure tomorrow will be no exception.  We look forward to welcoming Derek Hares and Steve King’s side to St Paul’s.

“There’s absolutely no pressure on us this year so every win’s a bonus.

“It’s nice that the lads can go out onto the pitch, work hard for each other and express themselves without the weight of expectation we carried last season in Division One.”
