February will be a tough month for Fisher, says manager Dean Harrison

Friday 01st February 2019

FISHER manager Dean Harrison says his side face a tough February as they lock horns with three of their title chasing rivals.

The Fish are in second-place in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division table with 53 points on the board from their 23 league outings.

Fisher are three points adrift of fellow surprise package Corinthian, who lead the table and Harrison takes his side to Sheppey United tomorrow.

Ernie Batten’s side are in sixth-place in the table and have rocked up 44 points.

“February will be a tough month. We play three of the top six and have a Quarter-Final away to Erith Town, who we have drawn with and lost to in the league this season,” said Harrison, whose side also play fourth-placed Cray Valley and Corinthian this month.

“Whilst teams around us make big signings, it’s crucial we understand as a unit that hard work and discipline have been the foundations of our season thus far and that can’t stop now!

“We look forward to going to Sheppey tomorrow, a club that have a great support and are to be admired in the way they’ve developed their facilities over the past few seasons.”

Harrison then takes his side to Erith Town in the Challenge Cup Quarter-Finals next Wednesday, 6 February (19:30).

The Dockers are in thirteenth-place in the league pecking order with 30 points on the board.

Harrison said:  “We are also really looking forward to the Quarter-Final at Erith Town on Wednesday.

“We let ourselves down in the league game there a few weeks ago and the boys feel they have a big point to prove!”
