On our day we feel we can give anybody a game as we did last year in The FA Vase, says FC Elmstead boss Fabio Rossi

FC ELMSTEAD boss Fabio Rossi says his side go into their FA Buildbase Vase First Qualifying Round tie against Whitstable Town as underdogs.

Rossi’s men are in thirteenth-place in the Southern Counties East Football League First Division table, having won two and drawn one of their seven league games.

Scott Porter’s side, meanwhile, play in the division above and are second in the Premier Division, with a playing record of four wins and one defeat in the league this season.

“Elmstead go into the game as underdogs but that means we will not having any pressure on us,” said Rossi.

“So far, it’s been a funny start to the season. We feel the squad has improved and are playing well but results have not been going for us.

“But Cups are different. On our day we feel we can give anybody a game as we did last year in The FA Vase.

“FA Vase and FA Cup games are great. We shall give it a real go and see where it takes us.”
