Faversham continues to improve both on and off the pitch, says Ray Turner

Thursday 10th July 2014
FAVERSHAM TOWN manager Ray Turner says he is thrilled to be welcoming Millwall to Salters Lane on Saturday afternoon.

The Lilywhites finished in tenth-place in the Ryman League Division One South table last season, collecting 68 points from their 46 league outings.

Turner says his players are looking forward to the challenge of playing against a Championship club.

“I am thrilled to be welcoming Neil Harris and Millwall down to Faversham for our opening pre-season game,” said Turner.

“It is fantastic for everyone associated with the club and it’s supporters that we are able to attract such a big name.

“It’s something the players are really looking forward to, testing yourself against full-time players really does represent a big challenge for them.

“It’s a game that I hope captures the imagination of all local football supporters and that they will come savour the friendly atmosphere and see for themselves that year on year Faversham continues to improve on and off the pitch.

“We will all enjoy Saturday and I will endeavour to give as many players as I can a chance to get some match time before the squad starts getting cut down.

“I know it will be a brilliant day down at Salters Lane.”

The Lilywhites continue their pre-season programme with a home game against Maidstone United next Tuesday.
