Striker Sam Lawford, 18, has signed for the Lilywhites after a two-year scholarship at Sky Bet League One side Gillingham, where he spent three months on loan at Ramsgate last season.
Striker Mark Lovell, 33, is one of many players who has decided to leave Herne Bay, while two central midfielders, Danny Walder, 27 and Macauley Murray, 22, have arrived from Sheppey United and Ramsgate respectively.
Turner told the club website: “The timing of the announcements is important. We’re close now to starting pre-season – we’re only four weeks away.
“Hopefully it will give the supporters something to get excited about. It shows the clubs intent. I’m delighted to announce five new signings in one day.
“All those players are going to offer us something and add to the strength in depth.
“If you add those five names to the squad that we finished with from the back end of the season then you see my intent in terms of capturing a little bit of the momentum that was built off the pitch with the new build and the new changing rooms.
“I’ve got the appetite to build a side to challenge again.
“There were a couple of aspects during the season that I felt we could improve on.
“One of the things that stood out for me last season was that at times we didn’t have the strength in depth to challenge some of the better teams – just not a competitive 16.
“I want the competition for places. I want to see that drive and that hunger and that’s only generated by creating that little bit of competition within the team.”
Turner revealed that he will bring new players in to Salters Lane.
“I couldn’t say I’m 100% done – I’m always on the lookout for something. The key, as with these signings, is that they’ve got to improve us. They’ve got to be better players coming in, so if there are players out there that I feel can improve us then I’ll still be looking for those to improve the squad.”
Faversham Town finished in tenth-place in the Ryman League Division One South table last season, collecting 74 points from their 46 league outings.
Meanwhile, Sittingbourne have unveiled a new signing, former Gillingham, Ebbsfleet United and Ramsgate goalkeeper Daren Hawkes, 23, has signed from Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division side Canterbury City.
Canterbury City have quickly found a replacement, by signing goalkeeper Jack Delo from Herne Bay.
