FARNBOROUGH Old Boys Guild have paid tribute to a former player of theirs who sadly lost his battle with skin cancer at the age of 37 on Tuesday.

Mike Cole played for the amateur Kent County League club and captained their Sunday reserve side.

“Coley made a huge impact at the club in just over two years, scoring an incredible 39 goals in 82 matches from midfield,” said a club statement.

“He was immensely popular with not only his team-mates but all who knew him at the club.

“Our thoughts are with his family, fiancée and friends.”
