Alex Barnes takes temporary charge of Farnborough Old Boys Guild after Byron Beard resigns from basement side
FARNBOROUGH OLD BOYS GUILD begin the search for a new manager after Byron Beard resigned from the position.
The near Bromley based club are rooted to the foot of the Andreas Carter Joma Kent County League Premier Division table having won two and drawn five of their 17 league games and are five points adrift of the team immediately above them, Faversham Strike Force.
The two side meet at Farrows Field on the High Street on Saturday but Farnborough do have four games in hand.
A club statement said: “Byron Beard has relinquished the position as first team manager with immediate effect. We would like to thank Byron for his efforts and wish him well in future endeavours.
“Alex Barnes has stepped in to manage the team on a temporary basis.
“We are inviting applications for the posts of manager and assistant manager.”
Enquiries should be made by email to mailbox@fobgfc.org.
Barnes takes charge of a side that have extended their winless run to six games, although three of those games were drawn games.
