FC Elmstead boss Fabio Rossi: We need to start picking up points if we are to achieve our goal this season of obtaining enough points in the league to gain entry into The FA Cup for next season

FC ELMSTEAD manager Fabio Rossi says his side will travel to second-placed Kent Football United on Saturday with renewed vigour.

Kent Football United are enjoying their best season at this level of football, winning 11 of their 14 league games and are five points adrift of unbeaten leaders Rusthall, but with a couple of games in hand.

FC Elmstead sit in fourteenth-place in the Southern Counties East Football League First Division table, having collected four wins, four draws and six defeats in the league.

“After a torrid last few weeks, we will be travelling to Kent Football United with renewed vigour,” said Rossi.

“The last month has been difficult with so many players’ out injured, but virtually everyone except Steven Strotten is back and ready to go.

“Although we lost 1-0 to Lydd last weekend we really played well, apart from sticking the ball in the back of the net.

“Kent Football United are going really well and no doubt will be a really difficult match but we beat them a month ago, 3-2 at home.

“We’ve got a few big weeks coming up. We face Sevenoaks next Wednesday in the Kent Reliance Senior Trophy, followed by the London Senior Trophy at Cockfosters.

“We need to start picking up points if we are to achieve our goal this season of obtaining enough points in the league to gain entry into The FA Cup for next season – so every point is vital.
