Editors plea: FAO: Mr Jerry Dolke, Chairman Bromley FC

Thursday 05th October 2006

As I write this during the early hours of Thursday, 5th October 2006, I feel there is something missing from my life - watching my beloved Ravens.

I’ve supported Bromley FC since the age of eleven, and went onto achieving one of my ambitions, becoming programme editor/press officer of the club for a three year period.

I have been called a “loose cannon” by plenty of people at the club. The reason for this is that I have two passions in life - football and writing about the game I love.

However, I admit that I’ve made plenty of mistakes in the past, but these mistakes were not malicious in anyway.

But I feel now is the time to bury the hatchet towards me and I would be extremely grateful if the club grant me permission to attend matches at Hayes Lane.

This website, which I am very proud off, has grown into one of the most popular football websites in Kent.

But I must thank Mr Jerry Dolke for giving me the opportunity to fulfil a dream. I am most grateful to the Bromley Football Club chairman for allowing me to express my skills at Hayes Lane.

I attend matches all over the county, watching some excellent matches and players, writing articles and interviewing managers, and assisting in putting some bums on seats for the benefit of Kent football clubs.

But I should be embracing Bromley’s excellent start to the Ryman Premier League campaign. Instead of being denied access to matches and sort of avoiding the subject.

All I ask for is another chance, yes, I admit it will probably be my 150th chance of my life, but this “loose cannon” wants to deliver the news of Bromley’s progress up the football pyramid.

I don’t hold any grudges towards anyone at the club. I’m not that kind of person. I just feel it’s time to work together for the benefit of all parties.

This message is not for fans to pass judgement on my character, but for Mr Dolke and club officials to allow me to attend matches at Hayes Lane.

I hope that you give me that 150th chance.

Regards
