Wednesday 22nd November 2006

Fisher Athletic manager Justin Edinburgh and his assistant Jimmy Dack have today left the Nationwide Conference South club by “mutual consent”.

A statement issued to www.kentishfootball.co.uk by the club’s 25-year-old commercial director, Mr Joe Arif, explained why the former Billericay Town manager has been shown the door.

He said: “Due to a change in policy and direction implemented by the Fisher board, the club is looking to consolidate our present position in the Nationwide Conference South.

“New budget restrictions are to be implemented shortly to ensure that the club remain financially viable going forward.

“The board would like to take this opportunity to emphasise that our position is unchanged to securing a permanent home for Fisher and that significant progress is being made to that end.

“The Fisher board feel that for the club to flourish long term a new stadium must be secured.

“This is the clubs number one priority at the present time and will inevitably lead to budget restrictions on the playing staff going forward.

“We thank Justin Edinburgh and Jimmy Dack for their efforts over the past year and wish them every success in the future.”

Mr Arif did not reveal details of the club’s new management team.

Edinburgh had replaced Wayne Burnett, whose now manager at landlords Dulwich Hamlet, leading them to the top of the Ryman League Division One South table, in January 2006.

Dack, 35, joined Fisher in June 2006 having joined from Nationwide Conference club Stevenage Borough where has was assistant manager.

Dack had played for Sutton United, Aldershot, Farnborough Town, Kingstonian and Crawley Town.
