Jamie Grimes departs Ebbsfleet United

EBBSFLEET UNITED have confirmed the departure of defender Jamie Grimes.

The 29-year-old former Dover Athletic and Cheltenham Town man was signed from Macclesfield Town by Garry Hill last July and played 32 times in the National League for the Stonebridge Road outfit.

Grimes showed plenty of versatility, having featured as a centre-half and left-back for the Fleet, who said: “We thank Jamie for all his efforts at the club this past season and wish him good fortune for his career ahead.”

Grimes added: “It was a tough season for us players on and off the pitch but the support from the fans was always outstanding.”

Ebbsfleet United were inside the National League relegation zone at the time that football was suspended in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
