Coach Kevin James leaves Dulwich Hamlet: Club has been my second home and left me with so many amazing memories

DULWICH HAMLET have terminated the contract of their coach Kevin James, owing to increasing commitments with his children and business interests.

 


The news comes during the week that the Champion Hill outfit announced that their current ground owners and management company were to end their contractual obligations in regards to player payment and club finances.

“I would like to say a huge thank you, firstly to Gavin Rose and Junior Kadi, two hard working, humble, respectful men that I believe are destined for the top of the professional game.  They possess top class man management and coaching skills," James said in a statement, posted on the club website.

“I’d like to thank them for giving me the opportunity to join the club eight years ago as a player and then as first team coach, head of fitness and A.S.P.I.R.E Academy head coach.

“I would also like to thank the players, staff and supporters for their efforts and support throughout my time at the club.  Dulwich Hamlet FC has been my second home and left me with so many amazing memories.

“I wish everyone all the best for the rest of the season and hope the good run of form continues to see the Pink & Blue Army finish with promotion.

“I’ll be back to watch when I can and will be definitely be looking to get back into the thick of football in the near future.

James has played an integral part in development the talented young men coming through the A.S.P.I.R.E Academy to the first team and into The Football League.

Dulwich Hamlet are sitting five points clear at the top of the Bostik Premier table with 36 points from 16 games.

Manager Gavin Rose added: “Kev will be a huge loss to the management team and the club on a whole.  He has so much to offer the game and we’re sure he’ll be back playing or coaching somewhere very soon.

“The club have lost a great servant in the short term, but he’s hard work and dedication will be remembered.”
