Dryden out for just one month

Friday 03rd February 2006
Dover Athletic striker Jimmy Dryden is out for just one month after it was confirmed this morning he had injured his medial knee ligaments, writes Justin Allen - www.doverathletic.com
It was feared that his injury could have been far worse but chairman Jim Parmenter today confirmed that Dryden should be back in March.

The former Folkestone Invicta striker has scored 21 goals this season (19 of them for the Cheriton Road club).

He said: "We will be making sure he gets expert physiotherapy and the doctors say he should be fit within a month.

"This is good news and we cannot wait to see Jimmy back in the Dover team doing what he does best, scoring goals."

Meanwhile, Nicky Humphrey will miss the next two matches after injurying his Achilles against Croydon on Tuesday night.

The central defender is the latest player to join a long list of players who have spent time on the sidelines this season.

Craig Cloke, Daniel Braithwaite, Danny Chapman, Tommy Tyne, Shane Hamshare and Jimmy Dryden, among others, have all been hit by the Crabble injury curse.
