Dover ready for Darts visit

Tuesday 20th February 2007

Dover Athletic chairman Jim Parmenter has revealed Saturday's Ryman One crunch game with Dartford will NOT be segregated, writes Justin Allen.

Club officials have looked into all the safety issues and are happy to not enforce segregation on both sets of fans.

Crabble has hosted many big games down the years - and even in their Conference days rarely needed to segregate matches.

Mr Parmenter told www.doverathletic.com  : "We don't expect Dartford to bring as many fans down to Crabble than Maidstone the other week - but we are expecting another good crowd for this match.

"It's a massive match for both teams and will attract a lot of interest across the county.

"We hope Dover fans turn out in large numbers because the team really does need their support more than ever.

"Everyone at Dover Athletic is bitterly disappointed with recent results. We feel we've let ourselves down these past 10 days or so - but there's no point moping about; we've got to look ahead to the remaining games and keep trying to the bitter end.

"We can still win promotion and the lads have all got to stand up and be counted. As a board, we are certainly going to get behind them."

Dover Athletic urge fans to turn up early to avoid large queues just before kick-off and also to create a superb atmosphere in the ground.
