Dolby relishing Dons Trophy tussle - EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

Tonbridge Angels’ manager Tony Dolby is relishing tomorrow’s FA Trophy second qualifying round trip to AFC Wimbledon, writes Stephen McCartney.

The Angels, sixth in the Ryman Premier League table, played in front of 1,549 fans at the Betterview Longmead Stadium last weekend, as Nationwide Conference South outfit Newport County ended their FA Cup dreams in the fourth qualifying round.

And Dolby’s side will be playing in front of another big crowd at Kingsmeadow tomorrow as his side enters a mouth-watering month of fixtures.

“This is why we’ve worked so hard to give ourselves the opportunity to play these big games.”

Dolby is, however, expecting a tough game, against a Dons side that are two places below them in the Ryman Premier League table, and have just conceded five goals from 11 league games - two of them being on home soil.

“They don’t concede many goals at all,” warned Dolby. “They are very strong and very organised and it’s going to be a tough game.

“I think we’ll just play our normal game. There is no reason to change the way we’ve been doing but I feel at the moment it’s all about us.

“It will be a massive boost to the players and everyone associated with the club to get a result tomorrow after the disappointment of last week.”

Dolby has revealed that he has no injury worries for the game.
