Dolby makes Storey his first summer signing - EXCLUSIVE

Tuesday 15th May 2007

Tonbridge Angels manager Tony Dolby has confirmed the capture of midfielder Anthony Storey from Blue Square Southern outfit Lewes, writes Stephen McCartney.

The dead-ball specialist impressed Dolby during his five-match loan spell from the east Sussex club in December last year.

And Dolby explained why he’s made Eastbourne resident Storey, 22, his first summer signing.

“He’s a quality player, his dead balls are very good. Something that we’ve lacked this year,” Dolby said EXCLUSIVELY to www.kentishfootball.co.uk tonight.

“He’s a very fit lad, technically very good.

“We were in quite a bit of trouble (when we signed him on loan) as we were down with some players.

“We were going through a bad patch - I thought he done very well.”

Dolby also revealed that young striker Adam O’Neill is pondering a move to America to play football.

“I’m not 100% sure, I think Adam O’Neill is going to America,” he said. “I’m just waiting confirmation.”

Matt Bromby is expected to retain his place as the club’s number one goalkeeper next term, whilst Dolby searches for some competition for the former Tunbridge Wells, Maidstone United and Hastings United man.

“We’re going to go with Matt,” Dolby said. “He’s going to work hard in the summer and we’ll see where it goes (but) we need two keepers obviously.”

Dolby is expected to keep faith with most of his squad that finished a respectable eleventh place on their Ryman Premier League return.

He said: “I don’t think there will be many changes. We had a good season where we need to improve in a couple of areas, which we are looking to do.”

Dolby also confirmed that Scott Gooding, John Beales, Robert Kember, Scott Kinch and Ray Powell have all signed new contracts to stay at the club.

Meanwhile, the club have announced that admission prices for next season will remain the same as last season with no increase.

Prices to watch the Angels in action next season are:

£8 (adults)
£4 (concessions)
£2 (under 16’s)

They have yet announced their season ticket prices.
