We know that we will have to play well and have that little bit of luck you need to win the game, says Deal Town boss Derek Hares

DEAL TOWN manager Derek Hares says he would like some luck to get past Whitstable Town in The FA Cup tomorrow.

The Hoops are in fourth-place in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division table after coming away from AFC Croydon Athletic with an opening day 2-2 draw, before beating Hollands & Blair 2-1 on Tuesday night.

“Overall, we have been reasonably happy with our first two matches of the season, taking four points from a possible six,” said Hares.

Whitstable Town have yet played a competitive game and go into tomorrow’s Extra Preliminary Round tie out in the cold.

“Tomorrow we take on what I am sure will be a strong Whitstable side in The FA Cup,” said Hares.

“It’s always exciting to play in this competition and of course it’s always great to have a run in it and for any club it’s important because of the prize money that is possible to win.

“We are hoping for a good crowd for the game, that I am sure will create a good atmosphere.

“I know the players are looking forward to the game but we know that we will have to play well and have that little bit of luck you need to win the game.”

Each FA Cup winner this weekend will scoop an increased £2,250 in prize money from The Football Association, while each loser will pick up £750.
