Darts visit to Ashford has "slim chance" of going ahead

Monday 12th February 2007

Ashford Town’s chief executive, Mr Mark Jenner has admitted their Kent derby against league leaders Dartford at the Homelands tomorrow is doubtful.

A pitch inspection has been called for tomorrow morning at 11:30 to see whether the Ryman League Division One South clash goes ahead.

Mr Jenner told www.ashfordtownfc.co.uk:   “I have asked for an early pitch inspection because it helps the players from both sides who usually have to take an afternoon off work to play of an evening.

“I would say there is only a slim chance of getting this game on tomorrow given the current rain and forecast.

“We need at least 24 hours without rain to enable the drains to clear what is already on the surface, otherwise we will have to play in Wellingtons!”
