Darts to announce Pulman replacement

Friday 24th February 2006

Dartford manager Tony Burman is expected to name a new signing for their trip to Barking & East Ham United tomorrow.

This is to “fill the whole left” by striker Ian Pulman, who signed for Ryman League Division One leaders Ramsgate last Monday.

“Firstly can I clear up one or two things regarding the departure of Ian Pulman to Ramsgate on Monday,” Burman said in his website notes on www.dartfordfootballclub.co.uk

“Ian did not ask to leave and his decision was not down to finance on his or our part.

“I have to tell you that Ian felt Dartford was the best club he had played for and while he was here his attitude has been second to none but sometimes you have to make difficult decisions and he’s made his decision for all the right reasons.”

Looking ahead to their game at Mayesbrook Park, Burman wants his side to bounce back after losing their last three games.

He said: “Tomorrow we travel to Barking who are one place below us in the league. This is a massive game for obvious reasons and I am delighted that we are involved in such games as over the coming two months there are going to be many twists and turns for teams in the top half of the table.

“We have been having a poor run, which hopefully we can change tomorrow but these things happen and we must try and stay focused on what we want to achieve.”

Steve Hafner, who was stretcherd off in their recent home defeat to Uxbridge, their first league loss at Stonebridge Road, is hoping to start some running tomorrow and should start training this week.
