Darts relishing big games

Friday 16th February 2007

Dartford play four mouth-watering games during the next three weeks - and boss Tony Burman cannot wait!, writes Stephen McCartney.

Table-topping Darts welcome Fleet Town to Princes Park tomorrow, before travelling to Dover Athletic in a Kent showdown seven days later.

Then Tooting & Mitcham United, who are steadily climbing the Ryman League Division One South table, visit Princes Park on Tuesday, 27th February, before they travel to their historic rivals Maidstone United on Saturday, 3rd March.

“Starting tomorrow we have a run of big games and are challenging for promotion,” Burman told www.dartfordfootballclub.co.uk.

“I have spoken to the players and this is what we all want to be involved in.

“I would like everybody, on and off the pitch, win, lose or draw to be proud of what we are trying to achieve and above all, let’s go and enjoy ourselves for a change - so let’s bring them on.”

Midfielder Eddie McClements and forward James Carter, whose returned from business commitments in America, which forced him out of last week’s win at Sittingbourne, are added to the squad to play a Fleet Town side that have slipped out of the play-off zone in sixth place.

Andy Sinton's men will be looking to bounce back following their 4-1 home defeat to Metropolitan Police last weekend but they haven’t won their last four games.
