Dartford sell Noor Husin to Southend United: Getting back to full-time has always been my aim

Friday 21st January 2022

DARTFORD have sold influential midfielder Noor Husin to National League side Southend United for an undisclosed transfer fee.

The 24-year-old signed for the part-time National League South club in February 2020 from League Two side Stevenage and has never hidden his desire to return to full-time football, which the Essex club can offer him.

“Southend United made contact with us with a bid to sign Noor and they have now come up with an offer which we feel compensates the club for the loss of such an influential player, whose contract ends at the end of this season,” said a club statement.

“As a club, we have never stood in the way of a player who wishes to develop their career and progress to a higher level.

“We would like to thank both Southend United and Noor Husin for the way they have conducted themselves in this matter and wish Noor the very best for the future.”

Afghanistan-born Noor, who has 14 caps for his country, has previously played first team minutes for Hemel Hempstead Town, Accrington Stanley, Notts County, Stevenage and Dartford.

“It wasn’t an easy decision but one I couldn’t turn down, getting back to-full time has always been my aim,” said Husin.

“I want to thank everyone at Dartford and the fans for everything. All the best and I hope the club get the promotion they deserve.”

Dartford are in fifth-place in the Vanarama National League South table, having collected 33 points from 19 games and are nine points adrift of leaders Dorking Wanderers, who play host to second-placed side Ebbsfleet United (who are four points behind them) tomorrow.

Dartford, meanwhile, welcome fifteenth-placed side Hampton & Richmond Borough to Princes Park Stadium tomorrow.

Southend United are in the bottom five in the Vanarama National League with 22 points from 21 games, seven points clear of the three-club relegation zone, which is presently occupied by Weymouth, King’s Lynn and winless Dover Athletic.
