Daish: There will be a few youngsters in our squad

Gravesend & Northfleet boss Liam Daish has promised “some more good news” within the next two weeks – having secured three of his players on contracts.

Daish was forced to release ELEVEN players last month as he was subject to budget cuts at the Nationwide Conference club.

But the Stonebridge Road side are pleased to announce that defender Paul McCarthy has today agreed a new one-year contract to keep him at the club.

Daish hinted his squad will have a few youngsters next season.  He told www.gnfc.co.uk
: “We are extremely pleased that Paul has agreed a new deal.  He brings with him a wealth of experience and he will undoubtedly be a key charachter around the place next season.

“There will be a few youngsters in our squad and we will need one or two players like Paul to help them through.”

He added: “I am currently speaking to several players and I hope to have some more good news within the next week or two.”

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Sam Mott and forward Jack Roberts have both been offered one-year deals at the club.

“These two lads have progressed through the club’s PASE scheme and are the future of this club," said Daish.

”They are both exciting prospects and follow in the footsteps of Luke Moore.

“This is a major step for both of them but I have every confidence and I am sure that both will play a part in the season ahead.”
