Cumberbatch returns to Homelands

Marc Cumberbatch has been drafted into Ashford Town’s squad for their vital trip to fellow strugglers Newport IOW tomorrow.

The defender has this week returned to The Homelands after a short spell at their Ryman League Division One rivals Dover Athletic.

With striker Adrian Stone returning to Ryman Premier League side Bromley, after netting three goals during his seven-match loan spell, and full-back James Smith suspended for seven games after picking up three red cards, Ashford are short on numbers.

“Marc should be available for the important trip to Newport Isle of Wight at the weekend,” Chief Executive Mark Jenner told www.ashfordtownfc.co.uk

“With one or two players close to five yellow cards it is important to have back up with the squad in case of suspensions or injury for the run of games coming up as everyone knows how important it is to secure some positive results from these games.”

Ashford will drop into the relegation zone if they lose their game across The Solent.
