Local entrepreneurial family put something back into football in Crowborough by funding artificial pitch for Crows

CROWBOROUGH ATHLETIC are pleased to announce that it has secured investment to develop the Crowborough Community Stadium to include a 3G playing surface and additional infrastructure.

Initial discussions have taken place between the relevant bodies and partners with a planned completion date of June/July 2017.

The investment has come from a local entrepreneurial family who have children playing at youth level within the club and are keen to “put something back” into the community they have come to know and love so well.

The Southern Counties East Football League club will be run as a commercial enterprise to ensure that good governance is in place and that the family secures a return on their investment in future years.

“This is an incredible opportunity to secure a sporting venue for the town which will be a lasting legacy for the people of Crowborough and the surrounding area for generations to come,” said Crowborough Athletic’s chairman Tony Bowen.

“The generosity of the family will allow Crowborough to become a centre of sporting excellence with an opportunity for the many not just the few.”

There will be more details to follow as the project progresses but it is the intention of the club that the facility will be made available, to the local community, for many varying sporting and physical activities not just football.

The facility will also be planned in line with environmental desires to reduce the carbon footprint where possible by harnessing solar energy and wind power within the design.
