London Pride as Chislehurst Glebe scoop Club of the Year at the London FA Grassroots Awards

CHISLEHURST GLEBE chairman Rocky McMillan says he is feeling incredibly proud after scooping the Club of the Year at the 2026 London Football Association Grassroots Awards on Monday evening.

The award was presented at a special ceremony at the historic Guildhall in the City of London, bringing together clubs, League’s coaches, referees and volunteers from across the capital.

This year’s awards attracted 250 nominations across 12 categories, with winners selected following a judging process involving London Football staff and external stakeholders.

Paul Bickerton, the CEO of the London Football Association, said in a statement:  “The stories we’ve celebrated through this year’s Grassroots Awards are a true reflection of dedication, resilience and passion for the game.

“Each winner and highly recommended embodies the spirit of our football community, from volunteers and coaches to players and clubs, whose tireless efforts make the game thrive at every level.”

Chislehurst Glebe were founded by husband and wife duo Rocky and Grace McMillan as Glebe Globetrotters back in 1995 and the first-team play in the ninth-tier Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division.

“To be named Club of the Year is an incredible proud moment for everyone associated with Chislehurst Glebe FC,” added Rocky.

“This recognition belongs to the players, coaches, volunteers, parents, supporters and partners who give so much to the club and make it what it is today.

“Our ambition has always been for Chislehurst Glebe FC to be more than just a football club. We want to create opportunities, develop players and provide a positive environment where people can enjoy football and feel part of something.

“To receive this recognition from the London FA means a great deal to all of us. We are enormously proud of what the Foxes have achieved together and excited about what comes next.

Rocky McMillan was also named Highly Commended in the Bobby Moore Award category too.

He added: “Being recognised individually among the outstanding people contributing to grassroots football across London is a fantastic achievement and another proud moment associated with Chislehurst Glebe FC.

“This award belongs to the entire Chislehurst Glebe FC community.

From the coaches and volunteers who give their time week after week, to our players, parents, committee members, supporters and everyone working behind the scenes, the strength of Chislehurst Glebe FC has always been the people who make the club what it is.

“Our dedicated volunteers have worked incredibly hard over the past thirty-one years to build Chislehurst Glebe FC into the thriving, inclusive and community-focused club it is today.

“The recognition reflects the commitment that goes into providing opportunities to play football, developing players and teams, supporting our local community and creating a positive environment in which people can enjoy the game.”

Meanwhile, Ryan Sawyer’s team welcome Godalming Town to Foxbury Avenue in The FA Vase Second Qualifying Round on Saturday (15:00).
