Chatham draft in goalkeeping coach for youngsters

Chatham Town have announced the appointment of Nick Rogers to their youth development team, writes Stephen McCartney.

Rogers joins the Maidstone Road club as their youth team goalkeeping coach and will also help Mark Burgiss and his under thirteen team.

Nick has played in goal for Sittingbourne, Faversham and Lordswood, previously coached at Sittingbourne and Milton and has also worked as part of the Charlton Athletic development team.

A qualified level 2 FA Coach, Nick is awaiting assessment for the Level 3 course he has also completed.

He has just returned from the USA where he spent last year coaching NCAA Division 3 University team.

“I believe Nick will prove a great asset to Chatham Town Football Club and our youth development programme and I would like to welcome him to the club and wish him every success,” Chatham Town’s youth development officer Gary Hawker told www.chathamtownfc.net.

Back to first team affairs, Phil Miles’ side travel to Sittingbourne’s Bourne Park on Wednesday to play Maidstone United, kick off 7:45pm.

Chatham's home game against Whyteleafe yesterday was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, whilst the Stones won 4-2 at league leaders Dover Athletic.
