Canterbury City appoint Chris Woollcott and Josh Hall as their new management team

Sunday 22nd December 2019

CANTERBURY CITY have appointed Chris Woollcott and Josh Hall as their new management team.

The homeless Faversham based club are sitting in ninth-place in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division with 24 points from 17 games.

Previous manager Clive Cook, his management team and several members of the squad walked out on Thursday night after the club announced a budget cut.

“Following two days of interviewing candidates the club is delighted to announce that Chris Woollcott and Josh Hall have been selected to take over as our new management team,” said a club statement.

“The pair will start work immediately with the first goal being to put out a side in our league game at home to Deal Town on Saturday 28 December.”

Canterbury City were unable to put out a side for yesterday’s trip to Tunbridge Wells and were thankful for the game being postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at Culverden Stadium.

A Whitstable Town statement said: "Well done to our assistant head coach of our academy programme Josh Hall, who is the new joint first-team management team of Canterbury City.

"Josh will continue his role at the academy managing squad two and working closely with Josh Algar running squad one."
