Brown delighted with DeBolla signing

Mark DeBolla has left Blue Square Premier club Ebbsfleet United - to drop two divisions to sign for Ryman Premier League club AFC Wimbledon.

The former Charlton Athletic trainee played almost 50 games for the Fleet, scoring 10 goals, and makes his debut for his new side in their home FA Trophy tussle with Hendon.

“Mark De Bolla is a player who I have long admired from his days playing at Grays and Gravesend, where he scored spectacular goals against us at Aldershot for both of those teams,” explained AFC Wimbledon’s boss Terry Brown, speaking to www.afcwimbledon.com.

“Mark was one of the most dangerous attacking players in the Conference and he can both create and score goals.

“He will be given a licence to attack within any system that we play and he will certainly give us a lot more attacking options.”

He added: “I think it is fair to say that we now look very strong defensively and in midfield. However, our inability to create and score goals has cost us up to this point.”

Meanwhile, in other news from Stonebridge Road, George Purcell and Liam Coleman have both returned from their loan spells at another Ryman Premier League side, Heybridge Swifts.

And the club can also confirm that John Hastings has returned to MK Dons and that Danny Stubs and John Akinde have begun a loan period at Ryman One South side Whitstable Town, both impressing in their 3-3 midweek draw at Corinthian Casuals.
