The Ravens have snapped up former Ebbsfleet United versatile defender Chris Bush, 26.

Bush can play at right-back, left-back but is most comfortable in central defence and becomes Smith’s 15th member of his squad, ahead of their fifth campaign in the Vanarama National League.

The 6’3″ footballer has represented numerous clubs, including Brentford, AFC Wimbledon, Gateshead, Hereford United, Welling United and Lincoln City among others, and now links up with former Ebbsfleet team mates Luke Coulson and Michael Cheek.

Bush scored five times for the Fleet last season, some of which were stunning free kicks.

“I’m excited,” Bush told www.bromleyfc.tv.

“When I spoke to the gaffer, he explained the direction the club wants to go in and the ambition it has and I wanted to be a part of that.

“When I spoke to Luke Coulson, he was very positive about the club and I’m pleased to be here now.”

Smith added: “I’m delighted to get Chris on board. He’s a versatile player which is good for us, though I’ve signed him as a central defender.

“He comes with experience, but at the age of 26 he is still developing as a player. He’ll give us the balance of a left sided centre half and also offers goals, hopefully with some more spectacular free kicks!”.

Smith has yet signed a goalkeeper, having released David Gregory after two seasons at Hayes Lane.

Bromley’s current squad:

Goalkeepers:
Defenders: Chris Bush, Jake Goodman; Jack Holland, Joe Kizzi, Marc-Anthony Okoye, Sam Wood.
Midfielders: Billy Bingham, Luke Coulson, Jordan Higgs, Adam Mekki, Frankie Raymond; George Porter.
Strikers: Omar Bugiel, Michael Cheek, Adrian Clifton.

Smith has also brought in Billy Bingham (Gillingham); Michael Cheek (Ebbsfleet United); Adrian Clifton (Maidenhead United) and Joe Kizzi (Billericay Town) this month.
