Kristian Campbell signs deal for Bromley

Wednesday 02nd August 2017

BROMLEY manager Neil Smith has unveiled the signing of former Merstham left-back Kristian Campbell, following a successful trial at Hayes Lane.

“Kristian is someone I know well as he was with our Academy when I first came to the club,” Smith told www.bromleyfc.tv.

“We liked him then but knew he had to go and play games to help his development and we always kept an eye on him.

“We asked him back in at pre-season to see how well he had improved and we’re really pleased with his attitude and the progress that he has made.

“Kristian has worked really hard during pre-season and is eager to keep learning and he couldn’t have a better mentor than Tyrone Sterling. Kristian can also play on the wing and I think he is a great young addition to our squad.”

The former Dulwich Hamlet and Holmesdale defender said it was “a new chapter and a new challenge I’m looking forward to.”

Bromley kick-off their Vanarama National League campaign with a home game against Eastleigh on Saturday (15:00).

The Spitfires have unveiled the signing of former Cambridge United and Gillingham striker Ben Williamson, 28, who scored Bromley’s winning goal in their 2-1 win over Crystal Palace at Hayes Lane last weekend.

Bromley boss Smith was keen to sign the striker after heading home an 89th minute winner, but Eastleigh have come in with a better financial package.

Eastleigh boss Richard Hill told www.eastleighfc.com: “I’m delighted to secure the services of Ben, especially with a list of National League teams after him.”
