Ashford Town set to unveil new "high profile" sponsor

Wednesday 31st May 2006

Mark Jenner, the chief executive of Ryman League Division One South outfit Ashford Town, is close to unveiling a new sponsorship deal for the club, writes Stephen McCartney.

Lipscomb Volvo, who have sponsored the Homelands club for the past three years, have withdrawn their support.

“We will have announcements to make shortly regarding team sponsors,” he told the fans’ forum at www.ashfordtownfc.co.uk

“We have a high profile replacement and new sponsors for the reserves and junior teams.

“All the teams will have new home and away strips for the season.”

Fans will be hoping the club ditch their lime green shirts (and dark blue shorts) next season. This colour scheme hasn’t brought the club much luck in the two years it’s played in the Ryman League.

The Nuts & Bolts have endured two torrid campaigns, finishing them both third from bottom in the table.

Jenner, meanwhile, asks fans to be patient as the club finalises it’s pre-season programme.

Ashford have confirmed just one friendly, which is a trip to Ryman Premier League side Tonbridge Angels on Tuesday, 25th July.
