Unbeaten table-topping manager sacked via social media posting
RYAN NORMAN has revealed he was informed of his sacking from top-of-the-league Ashford via a posting on social media on Friday night.
The club are unbeaten in four league games in the Andreas Carter Kent County League Division Two Central & East with 10 points on the board.
Norman said on Twitter: “Football can be a cruel game sometimes. Top of the Kent County League Division Two, get a WhatsApp at 22:45 on a Friday night to tell me I’m sacked!
“It’s been a great 15 months, thanks for the memories.”
Norman, a striker, has since signed as a player with Lydd Town, who are struggling in the bottom two in the Southern Counties East Football League First Division table with one win and a draw from their opening nine games.
A club statement said: “Due to recent events Ashford FC would like to issue the following statement.
“Due to recent revelations being brought to the committee’s attention, Ashford FC have parted company with manager Ryan Norman.
“The committee would like to thank Ryan for his service over the last 18 months and wish him well as he progresses with his playing career with Lydd Town.”
Meanwhile, Tudor Sports have parted company with their assistant manager Byron Beard today.
The Sidcup based club are in eleventh-place of a 16-team division in the Kent County League Premier Division table after banking two wins and a draw from their opening six games.
“The club would like to thank Byron Beard for all his hard work this season and wish him well for the future,” added a club statement.
