A
frustrating afternoon at Hayes Lane for Bromley ended in stalemate and
meant The Ravens would be heading down to Bristol on Tuesday night for a
replay, writes Colin Head. Despite
the game clashing with England V Austria there was still a fair crowd in
attendance and they helped create a good atmosphere for this well
competed match between two sides experiencing good form in their
respective leagues. Bromley
started brightly Barry Gardener shot wide following a good run and Allan
McLeod also went close. The
second half saw Bromley continue to dominate the game, but despite their
heavy pressure on the visitors goal they just couldn’t get that vital
goal. Bromley will be the ones coming away most disappointed as they dominated for long periods, with five players out The Ravens could only name four sububstitutes including reserve team captain Giovanni Marino and without top scorer Nic McDonnell they lacked that killer touch in front of goal and Mangotsfield seemed well pleased with their afternoons work.
