Charity begins at home for Tunbridge Wells
Go Travel Kent League side Tunbridge Wells are holding a quiz night on behalf of Cry in the Dark, a charity raising funds to build a hospice for orphans with AIDS in Romania.

For information about the quiz next Friday, 14 November, contact Jon Harris on 01689 875 330 or 07866 773 760.

The event starts at 8pm and entry is either £5 per person or £25 per team of up to six people.

Among the prizes is a team poster donated by Liverpool FC and signed by their players.

The Culverden Down based club is hoping that other local charities will wish to take up its offer of free clubhouse hire for fund-raising events.

Interested parties should contact Judy Farnie on 01892 518 363.  The clubhouse can accommodate up to 100 people and has a licensed bar.

Back on the pitch, Tunbridge Wells won only their second Kent League game of the season, by beating  basement club Sporting Bengal United 5-2 at the Mile End Stadium.  Wells, managed by former Tenterden Town manager Kevin Metcalfe, are still second from bottom in the table, with six points from eleven games.
