Still scope for big improvement

The curtain came down on Sevenoaks Town's second Kent League campaign on Saturday with a comfortable 3-1 win over Slade Green at Greatness Park, writes Stephen McCartney.

Sevenoaks have finished the season in eleventh place (in a 16-team league), which is the same position they finished their debut season under Graham Logsdon.

Julian Leigh, the club's joint-manager, was pleased they ended the season on a high note.

"It's nice to finish the season with a win," he said.  "We have finished in the same position in the league as last term and considering the problems we had in the early part of the season it has not been a bad revival.

"But there is still scope for big improvement.  The youth players that have come in have done very well and deserve praise."

Greatness Park is the venue for Wednesday night's Kent Ladies Cup Final between Charlton Athletic and Millwall (7:30pm).
