Ramsgate under 16s hit straight eight
Kennington 3  Ramsgate 8
MUSH Kent Youth League
Under 16s
Sunday 2nd November 2003
Match report by Bob Haynes, Ramsgate FC

Ramsgate Under 16s crushed Kennington at Ball Lane on Sunday to consolidate
their second position in the MUSH Kent Youth League.
Despite falling a goal behind early on, the young Rams equalised with a 25-yard
free kick driven in low by Nathan Jeffreys. They took the lead with a fabulous
20-yard volley from Jason McAree and cruised in at half-time 3-1 up courtesy of
a powerful Danny Barber header.
Top scorer Neil Hoggart turned provider for Liam Skinner to slot home the
fourth, with Hoggart himself adding the fifth shortly afterwards. The rampant
Rams, playing some delightful one-touch passing football created further chances
for Nathan Jeffreys and John Ryan and Kennington were reeling at 7-1 down.
Ramsgate's collective foot came off the gas a little and to their credit
Kennington responded with two breakaway goals before left-back Nathan Jeffreys
completed his hat-trick with a bizarre 40-yard headed goal which deceived the
goalkeeper.
The Under 16s entertain Thamesmead Town at Southwood next Sunday in the KCFA
Youth Cup.
Adams wins points for injured captain
Ramsgate 2   Milton Athletic 0
MUSH Kent Youth League Under 18 (South)
Sunday 2nd November 2003
Match report by John Vahid, Ramsgate FC
Ramsgate 18s sweep aside Milton Athletic like the wind and rain across Southwood.
Ramsgate took the lead as early as the 3rd minute when BILLY SUMMERS received a
pass down the right wing and coolly slotted the ball past the out coming keeper.
On 18th minutes midfield dynamo Captain Billy Grainger was clear through on goal
with only one defender to beat when he was upended just outside the box by the
defenders clumsy tackle. He fell to the ground very heavily, breaking his arm
and dislocating his elbow.  After the restart, once the ambulance had cleared
the pitch, the referee had no choice but to red card the defender.
To Milton's credit they battled well with only ten men for most of the match and
it looks as if that would be the final score. But on 77 minutes MATT ADAMS
latched onto the loose ball in the box to secure the points for the home side.
Although the Manager was pleased with three points, the players had other things
on their minds having seen  Captain Billy Grainger rush to hospital with a bad
injury.
Next Sunday 9th November Ramsgate under 18's are away at Chatham Town
